By next Monday, Jarrett Newby, Scott Bailey, Tim Bailey, Steve Geddes, and myself - the "Dockside Crew", will be back to work. Dockside Village of the 1000 Islands is going to be one of the biggest, and best projects in Northern New York, and if you'd like to watch all the construction process from your computer, look for the Dockside Village website at dockside villlage 1000 islands . com. There you'll also be able to read some of the public files relating to the project, and find out which businesses will be calling this massive structure home. If you have a business and are interested in leasing a space, we'll have all the up-to-date information on that as well. Again, this project is going to be constructed very quickly, so be sure to check in on the site for updated photos regularly.

Here We Go !

With most all the final paperwork in place, the snow has been bulldozed away, and the men are ready to drive some metal. The seawall will be the first element constructed on this project. Given the weather, hopefully this work will be completed in approximately 2-3 weeks. Immediately thereafter, given the rest of the paperwork and formalities are complete, the project will move into full on construction mode. If anyone is interested in working on this project, please leave a comment to this post with any questions you may have. We will email requested information to you with additional contact information. This is sure to be an exciting project and an awesome improvement to Morristown's waterfront.

Going Big and Going Green

I spoke with the Developer, my boss actually, about our upcoming project to find some very cool ideas. Jarrett Newby has told me that the Dockside Village Project is going to be one of the first "Heavy Commercial" projects to be certified, by the U.S. Green Building Council under The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™, at the highest level possible. This is an unbelievable feat to occur in Morristown, New York, but also, it will be the one of the first of its kind, in the World. The design of the building and grounds were strictly scrutinized by the U.S. GBC to be qualified at this level. Use this link for more info on the U.S. GBC or the LEED program. Like I've said before, this buiding is going to be constructed faster than anyone can imagine. By using the Isulated Concrete Forms designed by IntegraSpec, the project not only will be constructed quicker than conventional building methods, it will also be an environmentally friendly project. We will have a website dedicated to the construction process and all other aspects of this project which will be available at docksidevillage1000islands dot com in the near future.

Getting Closer

The workers on the Dockside Village of the Thousand Islands project have a tentative return to work date, and things are heatin' up. Hopefully the relatively warm week we've just had is a sign of things to come. The river out front had just froze over, only to now be opened back up by the warmer temperatures. Well, it was nice to see for the moment, but the quicker things warm up, the faster things will go up. The big factor affecting the "soon" is definitely the weather. And, as most Northern New Yorker's know, that could mean tomorrow... or, "see you in July!". So as we wait for the cold of old man winter to retreat, we will try to keep warm with the thoughts of the impending improvements to Morristown's waterfront facade.
